In Britain, experts have found that it is better to go on holiday to another country or, at worst, to another city or village. According to scientists, only by going outside of one's own city can a person fully rest, relax, and restore strength and mental state. To confirm their words, a team of scientists conducted a survey in which more than 30 million people took part.
As a result, the experts came to the conclusion that 81% of the survey participants (those who decided to go on vacation to another country) felt much better physically, were more rested and calm. Of all respondents, 35% noted that during a vacation in another country, the stress received during work receded, 42% said that after the vacation they felt full of energy for quite a long time, 10% noted an improvement in the condition of the skin, and 6% boasted of weight loss.
According to British experts, the reason for such positive changes for a person is that during a trip there is a change of scenery - far from home a person is captivated by new people, new places, new impressions, all problems and worries remain at home, which is thousands of kilometers away.
By the way, scientists warn that a person needs a vacation to maintain normal working capacity, in addition, experts even found out that you need to rest from work every 62 days, but, unfortunately, scientists did not report how much time (several days, a week or a month) is needed to restore strength.
Experts are sure that without vacation, a person simply "burns out" at work, while performance deteriorates every 2 months and it is necessary to take regular breaks from work. Scientists have found that more than 20% of employees suffer from various diseases due to the fact that they have not taken vacation for a long time. Researchers have found that those employees who prefer monetary compensation to vacation are more irritable and aggressive, compared to those who do not miss their annual vacation. Workaholics are more likely to develop insomnia, which only leads to worsening emotional stress, resulting in "internal burnout".
In general, working without vacation has a negative impact on the entire body - immunity decreases, general well-being worsens, and chronic diseases develop.
It is worth noting that more than 5% of employers in the United States allow their employees to "trade" vacations within the company, i.e. employees can transfer their vacation in whole or in part to colleagues for a certain monetary reward. According to employers, employees can easily replace each other at work, and the overall process will not suffer from this at all.
The Superjob research center conducted a survey among working people and found that almost half of the respondents are ready to sell their vacation to colleagues, and slightly more than 40% would not mind buying additional vacation for themselves. Men are more ready to part with vacation for money than women, but the older a person is, the less he is ready to give up rest.
