In the UK, specialists from King's College said that every ten years, humanity is becoming more intelligent. Such conclusions were made by specialists after analyzing the results of IQ tests of people of different ages.
The specialists decided to find out how different is the intellectual development of people from different generations. In the new research project, about two hundred thousand people from different countries took part, while the results surprised even the experts.
As it turned out, every ten years the intellect of people becomes higher. Such data indicate that each new generation will be smarter than its predecessors.
It's worth noting that every ten years the level of complexity of IQ tests becomes more complex, but despite this, young people are coping with it successfully. This feature was noted by James Flynn, a philosopher and psychologist at a university in New Zealand.
The average level of the IQ test is 100 points, it turns out that if a modern person performed the test one hundred years ago, he would be able to score 130 points, at the same time, the result of the ancestors in the modern test would be about 70 points, which is a significant difference .
It is likely that this contributes to a high level of education, but experts believe that this plays not a key role in the intellectual development of man.
Also, experts believe that the level of intellectual development largely depends on the quality of medicine and the reduction in the number of children in one family. As the British researchers believe, the current parents can pay more attention to one or two children than the previous generation, where the average family had three or four children.
The scientists noted that even the usual attention, for example, communication, games or walks, can affect the child's intellect. Such seemingly simple things largely develop the outlook and the process of assimilation of the system of norms, values, knowledge by children. Also, according to experts, the social status of the family, security and relations between parents can influence the intellect.
But in another study, conducted by experts from Florida, it was found that the process of education does not affect the intellectual development of the child. Will the child be intelligent or not, scientists assure, depends on genetics, and the child's mental abilities depend on the mental abilities of his parents.
To such conclusions the researchers came after studying children from different families. The study involved families with two children of the same age, but one of whom was not native (ie, was adopted). All the children underwent three tests - the first in school, the next at 18 and 26 years. As a result, the scientists found out that the child's intellectual abilities were practically independent of upbringing. However, children whose parents were more intelligent than their parents were smarter than their peers, but experts warn that the results of the study do not mean that parents can not deal with their children.
