Hypnosis sessions can help women cope with the tides that are associated with a change in the hormonal background that arose as a result of the onset of menopause. According to scientists, about 80% of women suffer from symptoms of menopause and perimenopause.

Specialists from the University of Indiana conducted a randomized study that was aimed at helping women suffering from hot flushes.

To solve this problem, experts subjected the participants of the experiment to hypnosis or so-called "structured programming".

Women who underwent hypnosis sessions, once a week for a month, followed the recommendations of doctors and mentally created the image of a cool, rest or safe haven, depending on what each of the subjects was closer to. They also received a hypnotherapist's record, which they were to listen to on a daily basis.

The control group received a record that contained information about the tides.

Participants were asked to record and record their condition: when they felt hot, how bad they felt, etc. In addition, women wore special devices that read the information of their body and recorded hot flashes.

Twelve weeks later, it was found that women in the first group who underwent hypnosis and self-executing medical advice felt much better, and the hot flashes disturbed them much less - on average, women experienced 75% less tides than before the experiment. The control group showed a much lower result - their tides decreased only by 13%.

Instruments that read tide information showed that the level of tides in the first group was reduced by 57%, and that of the control group by 10%.

In addition, hypnosis affected the general condition of the subjects - they had a good sleep and improved overall health.

How hypnosis helps to reduce the level of tides during the menopause is not completely clear, but experts suggest that this may be due to the increased functioning of the parasympathetic nervous system, which plays an important role in controlling tides.
