Sometimes it is hard to believe that the healthiest products have contraindications. Juices are no exception, although they contain the most vitamins.
For example, tomatoes, cucumbers and cabbage are permanent residents of our gardens and summer cottages. They are affordable, easy to prepare and have high taste qualities. Fresh juices from these vegetables are very useful for the body, but in case of some diseases, it turns out, it is extremely dangerous to take them.
We may not drink cabbage and cucumber juice every day, but tomato juice is a regular fixture on the dinner table at any time of the year.
Tomato juice is useful for people suffering from edema and those who have problems with fluid retention. It helps with colds, strengthens capillaries, and with regular use is a good preventative for atherosclerosis.
The juice is rich in vitamin C and potassium, which makes it indispensable for pregnant women. And tomato juice also reduces appetite, which has earned it the title of a dietary product that promotes weight loss.
However, the main value of tomato juice is lycopene. This substance is especially effective in the treatment of cancer, and is not destroyed in tomatoes even during heat treatment.
By the way, lycopene is found in watermelon, apricots and red-fleshed grapefruit.
It turns out that the tasty, healthy and beloved juice is not entirely harmless and has contraindications. People suffering from gallstone disease should limit its consumption. And only after consulting a doctor should it be gradually introduced into the diet.
Cucumber juice strengthens the heart vessels and regulates blood pressure. In combination with carrot juice, it helps with rheumatic diseases and is considered a good sedative. It stimulates and improves memory, so it is especially useful for students during exam periods.
But cucumber juice is not for everyone. Like tomato juice, it is contraindicated for people with gallstones and kidney stones. So do not engage in amateur activities, practicing naturopathy, but first consult a doctor to get the benefit and pleasure from the drink.
Important: cucumber juice in its pure form can be taken no more than 100 g per day.
By the way, cucumber juice is irreplaceable in cosmetology. It is rich in potassium and calcium. These vitamins are especially useful for those whose hair falls out and splits, and whose nails peel and break. It is good to wipe the skin of the face with cucumber juice. It moisturizes and nourishes it. And in hot weather it perfectly refreshes and opens the pores so that the skin can breathe better.
Cabbage juice is useful for colds due to its high content of vitamin C. And iodine and phytoncides will help to cope with tonsillitis and bronchitis.
Low-calorie cabbage juice will help you lose extra pounds because tartaric acid, which is part of it, slows down the process of converting carbohydrates into fats.
Folic acid, amino acids, trace elements and anti-ulcer vitamin U are far from the entire list of “fillings” of cabbage juice.
It is recommended for the prevention of exacerbation of gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer. It is effective for tumors and tuberculosis. It is also useful to take cabbage juice for insomnia and to reduce cholesterol levels in the blood, cleanse the spleen and constipation.
But cabbage juice also has contraindications. People suffering from gastrointestinal diseases, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer in the acute stage of exacerbation should not take it.
Important. Cabbage juice is beneficial only in its fresh form. It is permissible to add a few drops of lemon juice or a little honey. When using salt, the beneficial substances are lost.
