Recent medical studies have proven that cosmetic products containing green tea have a preventive effect on cancer, and in particular on skin cancer.

Experts believe that this effect of green tea and its components is associated with the sunscreen effect, which medicine has known about for quite a long time. Of course, green tea does not have properties that can protect the body from ultraviolet rays, but green tea can fight the action of elements that harm skin cells and provoke sunburn.

Some experts claim that green tea can be used to prevent the occurrence of age wrinkles and other age-related skin damage. There is some truth in this, green tea contains a large number of antioxidants and polyphenols, which help maintain skin elasticity. Cosmetologists are sure that regular use of creams containing green tea extract will help keep the skin fresh and elastic for a long time. On the other hand, you should not blindly rely on the effect of tea: the skin aging process can be slowed down, but it cannot be stopped. High-quality care will slow down the aging of the skin, but will not prevent the onset of old age and all the accompanying signs.

As for green tea-based cosmetics, first of all, you should pay attention to the fact that the creams and lotions are fresh. In no case should you use cosmetics whose expiration date has expired. Polyphenols contained in green tea extract can have the proper effect only if they are fresh. When exposed to oxygen, antioxidant polyphenols can be destroyed and lose the ability to restore skin cells. Because of this feature, many cosmetologists doubt the effectiveness of creams containing green tea.

Considering the protective properties of green tea, experts advise using cosmetics containing it in the summer, in combination with any sunscreens. Polyphenols contained in green tea and sunscreen cosmetics can protect the skin from the effects of ultraviolet rays and prevent premature wrinkles. It is worth paying attention to products that contain zinc oxides: this substance will not be able to negatively affect the composition of antioxidants-polyphenols, which will ensure the proper effect of green tea extract. Fans of natural cosmetics can independently prepare a cleansing and toning agent for the skin from freshly brewed green tea in the form of ice cubes.

Research conducted in the USA has proven the fact that green tea can reduce the likelihood of developing cancer. Statistics show that those people who regularly use green tea-based cosmetics are much less likely to be at risk of developing skin cancer.

It is noteworthy that in Japan, where green tea is considered one of the most popular drinks, the number of cancer patients is significantly lower than in the United States, where green tea is not popular.
