Few people know that, in fact, ordinary food products can in some sense serve as medicines, and also perform their functions, but with the only difference that they do not cause any harm to the body. For example, since ancient times it has been well known that most spices have healing properties.

Recently, US experts conducted a survey on what foods help people fall asleep and improve their sleep quality. Let's say one of the famous Spanish chefs believes that there are some types of food that will help a person fall asleep faster and, accordingly, improve their sleep.

Foods That Help With Insomnia

The palm belongs to seafood. These gifts contain a special substance called tryptophan. Tryptophan is an amino acid that promotes the most active production of serotonin, and it, in turn, is a natural substance that calms a person. Tryptophan is found in large quantities in the following foods: fatty natural milk and whole grain, nuts and bananas, as well as tofu.

A group of professors from the Harvard University Sleep Research Center claim that the most effective remedy for insomnia is saffron, which is a type of natural spice. As evidence of their claim, the scientists cite the results of studies on laboratory animals.

However, it is always important to remember that no matter how much certain foods help you fall asleep, you should not overeat them at night. It is also necessary to avoid drinking alcoholic beverages, coffee and strong tea before going to bed.
