The average woman has unprotected sex 11 times, with at least four different partners, the study found. The holiday season is the most common time for this risk.
British sociologists decided to study the sex lives of girls under 30 going on vacation. It turned out that as the long-awaited vacation approaches, these girls change their views on their personal lives and become much more relaxed. Thus, 10% plan to have unprotected sex with either a complete stranger or someone they meet during their vacation.
More than 40% of single girls are inclined to have sex without a condom abroad, and 13% of women over 30 do not plan to use any contraception during their summer vacation. All this then leads to a sharp influx of patients in the offices of venereologists and dermatologists.
"The fact that a significant number of women are having unprotected sex is very worrying," says Dr Tony Steele, founder of DrFox.co.uk, where the survey was conducted. "But what worries me even more is that women are not just having unsafe sex, but are planning to have it. The people you meet on holiday are complete strangers, people you know absolutely nothing about. And having unprotected sex with them means increasing the risk of contracting both STIs and HIV many times over." Psychologically, the desire to have this type of sex is linked to women's desire for adventure and adventure. Men traditionally find unprotected sex more enjoyable from a physiological point of view.
What should you do to ensure that the consequences of your vacation do not darken your future life?
- Don't forget to take a pack of condoms and hygiene products with you. Take plenty of everything. It's better to take care of everything in advance.
- Don't rely too much on the symptothermal method. It's not reliable enough in everyday life, and even more so on vacation. Long flights, time differences, and climate change can change your cycle, and you risk getting your ovulation day wrong. Use condoms and lubricant, and they will protect you from unwanted pregnancy and various infections. Don't agree to coitus interruptus with resort suitors.
