A unique technique by which children develop their language skills from an early age, learn to read and write, is very successful.
Scientists from the University of Sheffield initially wanted to involve in their experiments only 60 families with small children, but when the first results of working with this technique became known, the volunteers who wanted to participate in the study became much more, namely 6 thousand people.
The National Literacy Trust's May report says that British children have a poor knowledge base, they read and write worse than children from Australia and Canada, despite the fact that the UK spends 4% of GDP on manuals and textbooks for children. For comparison, in the US and Canada, these figures are 1.2% and 1.4%, respectively.
The team of specialists has studied a new methodology that allows to achieve good results in training in a short period of time.
The most important component of the method is the role of parents in this process.
Moms and dads are the child's first assistants in gaining knowledge. In order for this process to happen easily, naturally and cause the child a keen interest, parents should adhere to the following recommendations of specialists.
- Provide the child with everything necessary for normal cognitive activity. These are books, writing materials and the like satellites of the educational process.
- Recognition of the success of young students. Be sure to praise the child, do not ignore his successes and do not focus attention on failures and mistakes. Sometimes praise can have an extraordinary effect - the child will start to try and gain the confidence that he will succeed.
- Help and interaction. For successful mastery of knowledge, children will benefit from classes with adults. It can be a joint learning of a rhyme, reading stories, drawing and many other things. The main thing is for parents to become a part of this process, rather than hoping that the child will learn everything on his own.
- A good method of motivation to comprehend new knowledge is to show the children that everything they have learned can be applied in practice in everyday life.
Most families where the method was applied noticed that it brings excellent results in the learning process of reading, and also stimulates 2-len children to start talking. As for the boys, who differed in a wayward way, they had an increased interest in the way of communication through writing.
