A unique method by which children develop their language skills from an early age, learn to read and write, is very successful.

Scientists from the University of Sheffield initially wanted to involve only 60 families with small children in their experiments, but when the first results of working with this method became known, the number of volunteers who wanted to take part in the study increased significantly, namely 6 thousand people.

A report from the National Literacy Trust in May found that British children have a poor knowledge base, reading and writing worse than children in Australia and Canada, despite the UK spending 4% of its GDP on children's allowances and textbooks. By comparison, the US and Canada spend 1.2% and 1.4% respectively.

A team of specialists has studied a new methodology that allows achieving good results in learning in a short time.

The most important component of the method is the role of parents in this process.

Moms and dads are the child's first assistants in acquiring knowledge. In order for this process to be easy, relaxed and to arouse the child's keen interest, parents need to adhere to the following recommendations of specialists.

  • Provide the child with everything necessary for normal cognitive activity. These are books, writing materials and other similar companions of the educational process.
  • Recognizing the successes of young students. Be sure to praise the child, do not ignore his successes and do not focus on failures and mistakes. Sometimes praise can have an extraordinary effect - the child will begin to try and gain confidence that he will succeed.
  • Help and interaction. For successful acquisition of knowledge, children will benefit from activities with adults. This could be learning a poem together, reading stories, drawing, and much more. The main thing is for parents to become part of this process, and not hope that the child will learn everything on their own.
  • A good method of motivating children to acquire new knowledge is to show them that everything they have learned can be applied in practice in everyday life.

Most families who used the method noticed that it brought excellent results in the process of learning to read, and also encouraged 2-year-old children to start talking. As for the boys who were distinguished by their wayward character, they showed an increased interest in the method of communication through writing.
