Chinese experts have made a sensational discovery – they have managed to find a gene that makes alcohol a healthy product.

At the research center of the Academy of Sciences, located in Shanghai, nutritionists have found that the presence of the PPP1r3G gene neutralizes the harmful effects of alcohol, and even more, makes drinking alcohol beneficial.

The PPP1r3G gene promotes the conversion of alcohol into glycogen, which reduces fatty deposits in the liver.

Glycogen increases performance and energizes. Experts have also found that the PPP1r3G gene has a beneficial effect on the liver and other internal organs, it prevents the formation of fatty tissue in the liver and prevents its fatty degeneration.

A group of scientists noted that the presence of this gene in the body makes drinking alcoholic beverages practically harmless for a person, in addition, thanks to this gene, the functioning of some organs improves.

A team of scientists worked with laboratory animals, experiments on which showed that with an increase in the activity of the PPP1r3G gene in the rats' bodies, alcohol is converted into glycogen in the body, which significantly reduces the amount of fat accumulated in the liver. The scientists published the results of their work in one of the well-known scientific publications.

The discovery by Chinese specialists allows us to look at the problem of alcohol consumption in a different way. The identified gene will help in developing new medications that will help reduce the negative impact of alcoholic beverages on the human body.

Professor Chen Yang, who led the research project, noted that large amounts of fat in the liver are extremely harmful to human health.

Glycogen belongs to the group of complex carbohydrates and, like fat, allows you to store energy, but, unlike fats, it accumulates mainly in the muscles and liver and is a “cleaner” source of energy.

Nowadays, people are moving towards clean energy. And now, according to Chinese experts, the time has come to make changes inside our body and move from “dirty” fats to “clean” glycogen.

Fat in the body allows you to store energy, but at the same time, this method is quite “dirty”, since when fat is burned, a large number of pollutants are released.

Professor Yang suggested that his team's discovery could help develop new effective drugs that would increase the body's production of glycogen. According to experts, such a type of energy as glycogen is a cleaner type of fuel for the human body, unlike fat.

But today, experts warn about the dangers of drinking alcohol. As studies have shown, alcohol causes the development of oncological diseases - about 7 types of cancer in total.

During the study, specialists determined that drinking alcoholic beverages on hot days is especially dangerous, since under the influence of heat, ethanol is converted into acetaldehyde, which reduces the skin's ability to resist ultraviolet radiation, resulting in an increased risk of developing skin cancer.
