People have always been interested in their future, their health, and especially their date of death. For example, there is a humorous appeal to a cuckoo, who will predict how many years you have left, and people often turn to fortune tellers, soothsayers, psychics, etc. with questions about health problems or death, but in some cases such "predictors" simply make money on people's naivety.
Scientists have decided not to stand aside, and suggest using modern methods instead of birds, psychics or fortune tellers, namely artificial intelligence, which will predict the date of death with almost 100% accuracy, and will also help to identify health problems and will do this much faster than experienced doctors.
At the Boston medical center Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center-Gen, a team of scientists has developed a unique device that is capable of diagnosing diseases much better and even faster than a doctor with many years of experience.
Leading specialist of the new project, Dr. Steve Horng, commented on the team's work. According to him, the work is based on huge amounts of information, for example, if there is one patient, all of whose past illnesses are known, then in addition to his current complaints and anamnesis, patients with a similar clinical picture and health condition will help to make a diagnosis. This is the principle by which the new supercomputer works, in addition, such a system will help to predict possible diseases in the future, which will allow taking the necessary preventive measures (as is known, it is easier to prevent a disease than to treat it).
The supercomputer database contains more than 200 thousand medical records that have occurred over the past 30 years, and it is much easier for artificial intelligence to find a similar case of a disease than for a specialist to remember a similar patient in his practice. This is especially true for rare diseases, which the supercomputer identifies with extremely high accuracy and most often does this several times faster than an experienced doctor.
The team of specialists used the principle of "big data" in their research for the first time. At the same time, the scientists did not set themselves the goal of creating a device that could completely replace a doctor, rather this device was created to help doctors, to increase the abilities of doctors and speed up the process of making a final diagnosis. Many diseases are quite difficult to detect due to the erased clinical picture, symptoms, symptoms similar to other diseases, etc., because of an untimely diagnosis, the patient's life often depends (even cancer can be treated in the early stages).
In addition to rapid diagnostics, the supercomputer is able to predict death. Artificial intelligence collects and analyzes information about the patient (including blood pressure, oxygen levels, etc.), evaluates the indicators, calculates the probability of various causes of their condition and makes a forecast of the outcome, as studies have shown, if the supercomputer predicted death, then with 96% accuracy it can be said that the person will die in the next month.
