American scientists have proven the existence of the so-called G-spot. The corresponding study was conducted by scientists from the University of Gynecology in St. Petersburg (USA). A report on this work was published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine.

The G-spot is similar to some semi-mythical creature: everyone knows about it, but no one has seen it. The G-spot is a special zone in the vagina, which is located on the front wall; it is believed that stimulation of this zone gives the most complete and vivid sexual sensations, some argue that vaginal orgasm is unattainable without stimulation of the G-spot. The first mentions of the G-spot are found in Indian texts dating back to the 11th century. The term itself was proposed in 1981. Despite the long history of the issue, scientists still cannot prove the existence of the G-spot. Some women claim that the G-spot exists and with its help they experience unearthly happiness. Others - that the G-spot is absent, that to achieve orgasm you still have to use the clitoris.

A new study conducted by scientists from the University of Florida Gynecology is once again raising the old controversy about the G-spot. The latest discovery was preceded by clinical studies, during which researchers repeatedly recorded the same structure in the area where this mystical point should most likely be located.

G-spot

The author of the study, Adam Ostrzenski, conducted a pathological examination of a woman who died at the age of 83. He analyzed the structure of the corpse's vaginal wall layer by layer, where he expected to find the G-spot.

During the research, Ostrzenski found an anatomical structure that was located on the perineal membrane at a distance of 16.5 mm behind the external opening of the urethra. The scientist identified 2 parts of the discovered anatomical structure: the lower (tail) and the upper (head).

According to the scientist, the G-spot he discovered is a kind of small sac with well-marked walls, which in structure resemble cavernous bodies and connective tissue. The width of the structure described by the scientist was from one and a half to 3 and a half millimeters with a length of 8 millimeters.

In early January 2012, scientists from the United States announced that they had failed to find evidence of the existence of the G-spot. In the course of their research, they analyzed all scientific publications devoted to this topic for the period from 1951 to 2011.

There is a well-known hypothesis among sexologists that the G-spot does not have clear coordinates, that it is a certain diffuse structural formation that covers the clitoris, part of the vagina, glands and various nerve nodes. This is probably true. However, it seems very unlikely, despite the authors' justifications, that scientists for decades could not identify the structure they described and find in it the notorious main point of female orgasm.
