In defining his specialization, Professor David Margel, known in the field of urology for his experience as a clinician and scientific research, names oncourology (with methods of early diagnosis of malignant neoplasms of the bladder and prostate gland) and oncourological surgery.
After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and then completing a residency in the urology department of the Beilinson Multidisciplinary Hospital, Dr. Margel completed an internship in urological oncology surgery at the Princess Margaret Cancer Center, one of the hospitals in the University Health Network of the Toronto Research University (Canada), and received his MD degree. He has numerous scientific publications in various national and international medical journals.
David Margel accurately diagnoses cancer of the genitourinary system at early stages, performs complex operations to remove tumors, and uses the most modern, high-precision methods of radiation therapy (IGRT, SBRT/SABR, IMRT), as well as ultrasound therapy (HIFU) in the treatment of patients.
Within the framework of the Assuta Medical Center, Dr. Margel founded centers for the treatment of bladder cancer and for the diagnosis (genetic testing) of BRCA gene mutations in men, associated with an increased risk of developing aggressive prostate cancer. He has published more than 50 scientific papers on the diagnosis of oncological diseases in the field of urology. He speaks Hebrew and English.
